Bombshell NYT Article Reveals New Escalation in Trump’s War on Sanctuary Cities

Washington, DC—A bombshell report by the New York Times revealed the Trump administration's intention to deploy law enforcement tactical units from the southern border as part of a supercharged arrest operation in sanctuary cities across the country. Among the agents being deployed to sanctuary cities are members of the tactical unit known as Border Patrol Tactical Unit (BORTAC), which is typically deployed in rugged territory to deal with violent individuals like drug smugglers. The specially trained officers will be sent to Chicago and New York to boost the enforcement power of local ICE officers and later to San Francisco, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Houston, Boston, New Orleans, Detroit and Newark, N.J. Steve Choi, the Executive Director of the New York Immigration Coalition, issued the following statement in response to the news:

“Trump’s decision to deploy BORTAC to New York City is further proof of the President’s deranged obsession with our state and his campaign to terrorize immigrants. If the President really cared about public safety, he would not be sending a tactical force to our streets on the heels of ICE shooting a Brooklyn man in a residential neighborhood. New Yorkers are not easily fooled. As Trump learned after meeting with Governor Cuomo, we are also not easily bullied and will never stand for his hate-fueled agenda.”
