NEW YORK, NY - Today, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced that recipients of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program will remain eligible for state-funded Medicaid, regardless of any federal changes to or termination of the program.

NEW YORK, NY - Today, January 8th, the Trump Administration terminated Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Salvadorans living in the United States. This decision affects 195,000 people across the country, including approximately 16,200 Salvadoran individuals living in New York state.

In his remarks, Governor Cuomo gave a shout out to the rollback of federal protections and programs like DACA and mentioned passing a New York State version of the Dream Act, but omitted immigrant protections in his criminal justice platform, and other vital services for immigrants.
