No Safe Harbor Report, 2020

The New York Immigration Coalition, in partnership with Brooklyn Law School’s Safe Harbor Clinic and the Immigrant Advocates Response Collaborative, today released a new report entitled No Safe Harbor: The Landscape of Immigration Legal Services in New York (2020).

The report was authored by the New York Immigration Coalition, Brooklyn Law School, and the Immigrant Advocates Response Collaborative (I-ARC) and draws on detailed interviews and surveys to ascertain the core challenges facing legal service providers and immigrant New Yorkers seeking legal assistance.

Green Light NY: Driving Together

The NYIC is leading a statewide campaign to make driver’s licenses available to all New Yorkers, regardless of immigration status. Partnering with our members across the state, we launched Green Light NY: Driving Together campaign. On March 6, 2017, the NYIC held a day of action in Albany where hundreds of advocates and affected individuals convened at the Capitol building for a press conference to urge lawmakers to support Bill A4050. Bill A4050 would provide limited purpose driver's licenses to undocumented immigrants, which in turn would protect immigrants, strengthen public safety, and grow the economy.
