2026 Primary Election Information
The 2026 Primary Election is on Tuesday, June 23rd. New York has a “close primary” system, meaning only voters registered to a party holding an election (like the Democratic and Republican parties) can vote.
Voter Registration

You can also complete a voter registration form found here and return it in person or by mail. To vote in the June primary, your registration must be received by June 13th.
Vote Early
You can vote early from Saturday, June 13th - Sunday, June 21st. Early Voting hours of operation are provided by local County Boards of Elections.
In New York City, early voting locations are assigned and you can find your assigned early voting here. In all other areas of the state, you can find early voting locations in your county here.
Vote on Election Day
Election Day is Tuesday, June 13. Polls are open from 6 am - 9 pm.
