NEW YORK, NY - Today, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced that it will take the unusual action of by-passing the normal appeals process in an attempt to fast-track the removal of young people who are protected under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

NEW YORK, NY - Today, January 8th, the Trump Administration terminated Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Salvadorans living in the United States. This decision affects 195,000 people across the country, including approximately 16,200 Salvadoran individuals living in New York state.

In his remarks, Governor Cuomo gave a shout out to the rollback of federal protections and programs like DACA and mentioned passing a New York State version of the Dream Act, but omitted immigrant protections in his criminal justice platform, and other vital services for immigrants.
