New York, NY—Today, President Donald Trump announced an expansion of the travel ban to include Burma, Eritrea, Kyrgyzstan, Nigeria, Sudan, and Tanzania. Immigrant visas were restricted for Kyrgyzstan, Burma, Eritrea, and Nigeria. Sudan and Tanzania have diversity visas suspended.
New York, NY—Yesterday, in a 5-4 vote the Supreme Court of the United States granted the Trump administration’s request to stay the previously issued federal injunction that blocked the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) public charge rule from going forward.

The Supreme Court said the administration may enforce new rules that forbid asylum applications from those who have traveled through another country on their way to the United States without being denied asylum in that country.
