New York, NY–Today, immigrant rights advocates brought their demand for the inclusion of a pathway to citizenship for 5 million undocumented essential workers, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) beneficiaries, and Temporary Protected Status (TPS) recipients in the next federal infrastructure package to the streets of New York City.
New York, NY-Judge Andrew Hanen, today, ruled the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA) invalid going forward. In his ruling, Judge Hanen blocked the Department of Homeland Security from approving any new grants of DACA. As of now, the Judge’s order will not impact current DACA recipients or their ability to renew their grants of DACA.

New York, NY-Today, the New York City Board of Elections’ official vote tallies confirmed that voters elected the most diverse slate of Council Members in the city’s history. In 2022, 35 of the 51-member legislative body will be people of color. Additionally, 29 of the incoming Council Members are women, which marks the first time that the City Council achieved true gender parity.
