New Yorkers Rally Against Muslim Ban Tonight (6/26) and Family Separation on 6/30

Today’s Supreme Court’s decision to uphold Trump’s Muslim ban (Trump v. Hawaii) enshrines bigotry into policy under the pretext of national security. Yet, this is not the first time the Court has been wrong or on the wrong side of history: in 1944, SCOTUS upheld the imprisonment of more than 120,000 Americans for their Japanese ancestry. As history repeats itself, this ruling will be condemned by future generations as a betrayal of the promise of equality and justice for all.

Join the NYIC at Foley Square in NYC at 6pm tonight to #StandWithMuslims. The Supreme Court has failed us, which is why you are needed more than ever.

WHEN: TUESDAY, June 26th at 6pm
WHERE: Foley Square, New York, NY 10001
WHO: The New York Immigration Coalition, MPower Change, Women’s March, Arab American Association of New York, Yemeni American Merchants Association, CAIR-NY, MCN, advocates, affected individuals
WHAT: Rally in response to SCOTUS decision to Uphold Muslim Ban

If you or a loved one think you may be affected by the ban, call:
Office of New Americans Hotline: 1-800-566-7636
#NoBanJFK Hotline: 1-844-326-4940

But this is not our only fight.

Join thousands of New Yorkers on Saturday, June 30, in a march to End Family Separation. We will unify our voices to demand that Donald Trump stop locking up children and families fleeing violence and persecution.

WHAT: End Family Separation NYC Rally and March
WHEN: Saturday, June 30 at 10:00am-2pm
WHERE: Begin at Foley Square & march across the Brooklyn Bridge to rally at Cadman Plaza
WHO: The NYIC and many close ally organizations like 199SEIU, 32BJ SEIU, Atlas: DIY,
CARECEN-NY, Empire State Indivisible, Neighbors Link, NYCLU, Rise and Resist.

There is NO plan for reunification; there is NO clear tracking system for the children that were already forcibly stolen from their families; and there is NO plan to stop criminalizing asylum seekers at the border. We need the "zero tolerance" policy on border crossings to end NOW.

The NYIC will continue to raise its voice and fight for a fair and just immigrant agenda. To stay informed and engaged on this and all local actions, text NYIC to 864237.

History has its eyes on us — and will judge these policies harshly.
