How to Request a Service

HOW TO REQUEST A SERVICE

Are you a city agency, city-elected official or city-funded organization in need of interpretation support? The NYC Community Interpreter Bank connects you with trained, professional interpreters.

Step 1: Determine Eligibility
To request interpretation services from the NYC Community interpreter Bank, you must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Be a city-funded organization
  • Be a New York City agency
  • Be a New York city council member or elected official’s office

Eligible entities must be located in New York City and provide services such as:

  • Legal assistance
  • Social services
  • Case management
  • Healthcare access
  • Public-facing events

Step 2: Submit a Service Request
Complete the Interpreter Service Request Form with the following details:

  • Organization name and contact information
  • Type of service (legal, healthcare, navigation, event, etc.)
  • Language(s) needed
  • Date, time, and location of the service (in-person, virtual, or phone)

Please note: Requests must be submitted at least 48 to 72 hours in advance to allow enough time to coordinate interpreter availability.

Step 3: Await Confirmation
Requests are reviewed promptly. Interpreters are assigned based on language, availability, and location. Once confirmed, you’ll receive an email with all the assignment details.

Please note that this initiative is currently ONLY available to City Agencies, NYC elected officials offices, and City-funded organizations. Please complete the following short screening to determine eligibility.
