Organizing Institute

The NYIC Organizing Institute (OI) engages participants from November through May in a cohort-based series of workshops focused on teaching emerging organizers strategies and skills around advocacy, policy, campaign-building, relationship-building, storytelling, lobbying, and more. OI seeks to build the next generation of organizers to strengthen the immigrant rights movement in NYS.

Selection Process

NYIC will release an application process (RFP) to its Members and create an internal selection committee to select participant Member organizations. This will typically take place in the early Fall every year, unless noted otherwise in our Member Newsletter. NYIC Members interested in applying are encouraged to select a staff representative to enroll in the Organizing Institute program and submit their application by the deadline.

Note: Formerly, there was a regrant award with a set of deliverables associated with the Campaign for Access, Representation and Equity for Immigrant Families (CARE4IF). This is no longer the case.
