Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins Calls for New York for All

Albany, NY—Today, in her remarks opening the 2026 Legislative session, New York State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins called for the passage of New York For All this year in order to protect immigrant New Yorkers.

Murad Awawdeh, President and CEO, New York Immigration Coalition:

“We thank and commend Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins for her call to pass New York for All. New Yorkers are living through unprecedented threats, with immigrants bearing the brunt of the Trump administration’s attacks on our democracy. The Majority Leader’s comments make clear that New York’s public safety depends on ending collusion with ICE. We call on the New York State Assembly to follow suit and prioritize the passage of New York for All. We look forward to working with both Houses to stand up for all New Yorkers in the coming weeks. Investing in and protecting our immigrants is an investment in the future of New York State.”
