End ICE’s Brutality in NYC Immigration Courts

New York, NY—Today, a photojournalist was shoved to the ground by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents at 26 Federal Plaza while they were documenting the arrest of individuals attending immigrant court hearings. 

This incident comes just days after another immigration officer was captured on video pushing a woman to the ground at the same location.

NYC Department of Corrections Broke The Law, Again

New York, NY—Today, the NYC Department of Investigation (DOI) released a report stating that the NYC Department of Correction (DOC) – which is part of the Mayoral administration – has violated New York City’s sanctuary law. The 68-page investigation alleges that an NYCDOC investigator assigned to a joint task force with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) provided information on multiple individuals to ICE, which is barred by local sanctuary laws.

Death of Immigrant in Nassau County Jail Shows Need to End NYS 287(g) Agreements

New York, NY—On Thursday, a man died in detention in a Nassau County jail after being arrested by ICE. Nassau County contracts to lease jail cells to ICE, and Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman signed 287(g) agreements with ICE in February 2025. The 287(g) agreement deputizes the Nassau County Police Department and Nassau County Sheriff's Office for the purpose of federal immigration enforcement and detentions.
