Closed NYIC VISTA positions

The following NYIC VISTA positions have been filled.

  1. NYIC VISTA @ Her Justice - will work on community outreach and education projects including but not limited to developing and/or implementing community outreach activities and materials (e.g. flyers, outreach/service maps, translated materials, street outreach, social media), developing Know Your Rights presentations, recruiting and engaging volunteers for community outreach and education, and developing partnerships with community-based organizations. This capacity-building work will support Her Justice in being able to connect low-income immigrants to immigration matrimonial and family law services, in addition to other programs/services that will support their access to economic opportunity. This position is based in New York, NY, and will receive a living allowance of $18,177.
  2. NYIC VISTA @ Korean Community Services of Metropolitan New York (KCS) - will work on communications (e.g., social media, blog posts, press releases, website management) and volunteer management (e.g., volunteer recruitment, training, coordination, recognition) projects. This capacity-building work will support KCS in being able to connect low-income immigrants to immigration legal services and other programs/services that will support their access to economic opportunity. This position is based in Queens, NY, and will receive a living allowance of $18,177.
  3. NYIC VISTA @ Legal Aid Burea of Buffalo (LABB) - will work on program development (e.g., resource development, curriculum development, evaluation) and volunteer management (e.g., volunteer recruitment, training, coordination, recognition) projects. This capacity-building work will support LABB in being able to connect low-income immigrants to diverse legal services (e.g., immigration, housing) that will support their access to economic opportunity and stability. This position is based in Erie County, NY, and will receive a living allowance of $12,311.
  4. NYIC VISTA @ Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) - will work on community outreach/education projects for its taxi network program including but not limited to health education material development and dissemination (e.g., pamphlets, short videos, audio and text messages) and building a network of taxi driver peer educators and members. This capacity-building work will support MSKCC in being able to connect low-income immigrant taxi drivers to health services that will support their economic stability. This position is based in New York, NY, and will receive a living allowance of $18,177.
  5. NYIC VISTA @ Refugees Helping Refugees (RHR) - will work on further developing RHR's work experience program by developing program curriculum, resources, outreach and communications materials, data systems, and evaluations. This capacity-building work will support RHR in being able to engage low-income immigrants in its work experience program and other programs/services that support access to economic opportunity. This position is based in Monroe County, NY, and will receive a living allowance of $18,177.
  6. NYIC VISTA @ Violence Intervention Program (VIP) - will work on further developing VIP's Youth Curriculum program which is focused on teaching young people about intimate partner violence, bullying, self-esteem, and bystander intervention. The VISTA will develop program curriculum, facilitation guides, resources, resources, outreach and communications materials, partnerships, needs assessment and evaluation. This capacity-building work will support VIP in being able to connect low-income immigrants to domestic violence services and other programs/services that will support their access to economic stability. This position is based in New York, NY, and will receive a living allowance of $18,177.
