The New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC) Member Congress, January 10 - 11, 2022, will bring NYIC Member and partner organizations together from across New York State to build a statewide collaborative advocacy strategy, lobby representatives, and engage in professional development/networking in support of immigrant and refugee communities.
|Monday, January 10||Strategy||Participants will learn about legislative advocacy, explore issues impacting immigrant and refugee communities, and collaborate on building a coalition-based statewide advocacy strategy.|
|Tuesday, January 11||Lobbying||Participants will engage in training around lobbying and then will engage in lobbying visits with their representatives in support of immigrant and refugee communities.|
This event will be two days long. Participants can come for one or both days. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required.
NYIC has reserved a room block for attendees the night of January 10, 2022 at a discounted rate of $114. Click here and under Special Rates enter Group code '1NYIC'. Members can share rooms if they desire. They must coordinate the payment and communicate the suitemate to the hotel at registration in order to facilitate a smooth check-in.
Please note: Transportation will only be provided to Albany on day one and from Albany on day two. Those securing their own transportation will have complimentary self-parking at the hotel.
